Football Recap: Humboldt Comes Up Short

Humboldt played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Prairie View Buffalos, falling 56-14. The Cubs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-0.

Despite the loss, Humboldt still got an impressive performance from Mason Sterling, who rushed for 135 yards and a pair of TDs.

Parker Schwarz had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 201 yards and five touchdowns on only 13 carries for Prairie View. Schwarz's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 184 rushing yards. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Attebery, who rushed for 60 yards and one score on only five carries.

This is the second loss in a row for Humboldt and nudges their season record down to 1-4. As for Prairie View, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

Humboldt has already played their next matchup, a 28-6 win against Bluestem on the 10th. As for Prairie View, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 49-8 victory against Anderson County on the 10th.
