Basketball Recap: Saint Joseph Comes Up Short

Saint Joseph suffered their biggest loss since January 9, 2024 on Saturday. They were outmatched by the Ontario Christian Knights and fell 72-34. The contest marked the Jesters' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Several Jesters players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Bella Harmon, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. Harmon is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Alana White was another key player, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds.

Ontario Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tati Griffin, who went 9 of 14 en route to 23 points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Douglas, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 12 rebounds.

With the defeat, Saint Joseph broke their eight-game winning streak and moved their record to 16-2. As for Ontario Christian, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 21-1.

Saint Joseph wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 48-25 victory against Serra on the 14th. Ontario Christian has also already played their next contest, a 95-69 win against Rancho Christian on the 13th.
