Recap: St. Anthony Saints vs. Great Oak Wolfpack
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the St. Anthony Saints walked away with it. They strolled past the Wolfpack with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 68-50. The win was familiar territory for St. Anthony who now have five in a row.
St. Anthony's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ryann Bennett, who scored 20 points along with five assists and three steals. Bennett has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Melaiah Joseph was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with four steals.
St. Anthony's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 21-7. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.7 points per game. As for Great Oak, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-8.
St. Anthony's road trip will continue as they head out to face Crean Lutheran at 7:00 p.m. on February 10th. Crean Lutheran will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something St. Anthony surely won't give up without a fight. Great Oak does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
