Football Recap: North Marion Comes Up Short

If North Marion was riding high fresh off their 33-7 takedown of Crescent City last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Colts fell 24-14 to the Williston Red Devils on Friday. The Colts were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Red Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Omarian Walker and Kameryn Manneh. Walker gained 129 total yards and two touchdowns while Manneh rushed for 133 yards and one TD while picking up 8.3 yards per carry. Those 133 rushing yards gave Manneh a new career-high.

North Marion now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Williston, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-1.

Looking ahead, North Marion will square off against South Sumter at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Raiders' defense has only allowed 12.2 points per game this season, so the Colts' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Williston, they will face off against Trinity Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
