Basketball Game Preview: Trinity Wolves vs. Woodland Christian Cardinals

The Trinity Wolves will venture away from home to face off against the Woodland Christian Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Trinity is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.

Trinity is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They walked away with a 50-41 win over Sonoma Valley.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Trinity to victory, but perhaps none more so than Braelynn Nugent, who posted two points in addition to 11 boards, seven assists, and seven steals. Kloe Kist was another key player, shooting 46% from the field en route to 17 points and three steals.

Trinity smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 18 consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Woodland Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They strolled past Fort Bragg with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 54-40.

Woodland Christian's victory was their 15th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 27-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.1 points over those games. As for Trinity, their win bumped their record up to 24-7.

Everything came up roses for Trinity against Woodland Christian in their previous matchup back in March of 2022, as the team secured a 60-13 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Trinity since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
