Soccer Game Preview: Highlands vs. Golden Sierra

Highlands hasn't had much luck against Golden Sierra recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Highlands Scots will take on the Golden Sierra Grizzlies at 4:00 p.m. Highlands is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4.3 goals per game this season.

Last Thursday, it was close, but Highlands sidestepped Woodland Christian for a 2-1 victory.

Nevaeh Cortez was the driving force of Highlands' attack as she scored both of Highlands' goals, bringing her season total up to 33 goals.

Meanwhile, after a string of six wins, Golden Sierra's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They and Esparto finished up their contest with a 0-0 draw. The result kept the Grizzlies happy, as they haven't lost a game since January 7th.

Highlands pushed their record up to 9-5 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three matches. Golden Sierra's draw gives them a new season record of 13-5-3.

Highlands might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Golden Sierra in their previous meeting back in January. Can Highlands avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
