Baseball Recap: New Haven Comes Up Short

New Haven couldn't beat Fairfield on Tuesday even though they stacked four runs on them in the seventh inning. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 6-5. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bulldogs of the 9-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2022.

This is the second loss in a row for New Haven and nudges their season record down to 16-10. As for Fairfield, their win bumped their record up to 12-15.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. New Haven will challenge Norwell at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season. As for Fairfield, they will square off against Wawasee at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
