Preview: Willits Wolverines vs. Clear Lake Cardinals
Willits is 1-9 against Clear Lake since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Willits Wolverines will look to defend their home court against the Clear Lake Cardinals at 5:30 p.m. Willits has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 16.
Last Friday, Willits lost to Upper Lake at home by a decisive 53-35 margin.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Arion Martin, who scored nine points along with ten rebounds and six steals. Another player making a difference was Cecily Potter, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 19-19 at halftime, Clear Lake was not quite Lower Lake's equal in the second half on Tuesday. Clear Lake fell just short of Lower Lake by a score of 47-45. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Clear Lake has suffered yet this season.
Willits has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season. As for Clear Lake, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-11.
