Argonaut is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Bradshaw Christian: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Argonaut blew Bradshaw Christian out of the water with a 64-21 final score. Argonaut's win on Tuesday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Alayna Critchfield, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. Critchfield is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Brynn Begovich, who went 6 of 15 en route to 16 points in addition to five assists and five rebounds.
Argonaut smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 24 consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Galt lost to Amador at home by a 36-21 margin on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Buffaloes: they've now lost three in a row.
Paola Corral was Galt's leading scorer, having posted six points. Allison Garcia held things down on the boards with seven rebounds.
Argonaut's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-10. As for Galt, their loss dropped their record down to 5-20.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Argonaut has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 37 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Galt struggles in that department as they've been averaging 29.5 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Everything came up roses for Argonaut against Galt when the teams last played back in January, as the team secured a 59-22 win. In that matchup, Argonaut amassed a halftime lead of 33-7, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
