Softball Game Preview: Grovetown Warriors vs. Newton Rams

Grovetown is a perfect 3-0 against Newton since August of 2024 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Warriors will be playing in front of their home fans against the Rams at 4:00 p.m. Grovetown will be strutting in after a win while Newton will be coming in after a loss.

Grovetown proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 14) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Loganville Christian Academy 3-1.

Grovetown's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Josalyn Sergent, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Meanwhile, Newton had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They came up short against Social Circle on Thursday, falling 8-0. The Rams have struggled against the Redskins recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Grovetown took their win against Newton in their previous matchup back in August of 2024 by a conclusive 10-2 score. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rams turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
