Soccer Game Preview: Niwot vs. Mead + Official Tickets

The Niwot Cougars will venture away from home to square off against the Mead Mavericks at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Niwot's last four matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

It was a proper cat-fight when Niwot took on Holy Family on Tuesday. The Cougars had just enough and edged out the Tigers 3-2. The score was all tied up 2-2 at the break, but Niwot were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, Mead was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 5-1 to Longmont. Things were pretty much settled by the half as Mead were already down 3-0.

Mead now has a losing record of 5-6-1. As for Niwot, their win bumped their record up to 6-4-2.

Niwot came out on top in a nail-biter against Mead when the teams last played back in October of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
