Basketball Game Preview: Berwick Bulldogs vs. Mountain View Eagles

The Berwick Bulldogs and the Mountain View Eagles will round out the year against one another at at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Berwick managed to keep up with Central Columbia until halftime on Saturday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Berwick might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Central Columbia an easy 52-27 victory. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Bluejays recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, Berwick saw an underclassman step up: freshman Abby Calarco posted 11 points and six boards.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mountain View). They put the hurt on Blue Ridge with a sharp 58-32 win on Friday. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 134th, while the Raiders are ranked 440th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Berwick's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Mountain View, they pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.
