Two dominant forwards in Aligo Banja and Paris Strozier jr are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Central Bobcats and the Thunderbird Titans will round out the year against one another at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at. Central will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
Central has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 21 points or more this season. They took their contest at home last Wednesday with ease, bagging a 112-28 win over Metro Tech. Central's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Meanwhile, even though Mountain Pointe scored an imposing 57 points on Wednesday, Thunderbird still came out on top. Thunderbird strolled past Mountain Pointe with points to spare, taking the game 71-57.
Strozier jr continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 29 points along with five rebounds. Those 29 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Will Clark, who scored seven points along with nine rebounds and six assists.
Central's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 85.3 points per game. As for Thunderbird, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.
