After flying high against Wausa last Tuesday, West Holt came back down to earth. The West Holt Huskies fell just short of the Battle Creek Braves by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Huskies haven't had much luck with the Braves recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
West Holt took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 25-16, 19-25, 25-20, 15-12.
Battle Creek's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ella Reeves led the charge by getting 25 digs. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Kuchar, who had eight digs and 24 assists.
West Holt's loss dropped their record down to 15-7. As for Battle Creek, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season.
