California Lutheran snaps 12-game streak of wins on the road

Recap: California Lutheran C-Hawks vs. United Christian Academy Eagles

After a string of 12 wins, the California Lutheran C-Hawks's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a 45-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of United Christian Academy. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as California Lutheran came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 225th, while United Christian Academy is ranked 556th).

California Lutheran's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Allison Schroeder, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kiera Schroeder, who scored 16 points along with two steals.

California Lutheran's loss ended a 12-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 14-2. As for United Christian Academy, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-8.

California Lutheran will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against La Sierra Academy at 5:00 p.m. As for United Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to take on California School for the Deaf-Riverside at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
