Basketball Recap: Sophia Rangel's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Loara over Savanna

Loara was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They took a hard 61-42 fall against the Savanna Rebels. The Saxons were not able to make up for their loss to the Rebels from their previous meeting back in December of 2023.

Several Saxons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sophia Rangel, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. Rangel is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down 11 or more in the last 13 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Angela Ngo, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten boards.

Loara's defeat dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Savanna, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.

Loara didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 56-48 win against Magnolia on the 14th. As for Savanna, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 58-42 victory against Anaheim on the 14th.
