Basketball Recap: Harper Bohaboj's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Bennington over Skutt Catholic

Bennington and Skutt Catholic squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Bennington had to settle for second. They took a 58-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Skutt Catholic SkyHawks. The defeat continues a trend for the Badgers in their meetings with the SkyHawks: they've now lost eight in a row.

Several Badgers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Harper Bohaboj, who shot 45% from the field on her way to 13 points and five assists. Bohaboj is on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 45% in the last six games she's played. Presley Baca was another key player, putting up ten points and five boards.

Bennington's loss dropped their record down to 22-5. As for Skutt Catholic, the victory (which was their 16th in a row) raised their record to 27-1.

Bennington does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Skutt Catholic, they and Gretna East will face off at 6:15 p.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played.
