Football Recap: Bishop Carroll Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Bishop Carroll can now relate to. They were outmatched by the Great Bend Panthers and fell 49-7. While losing is never fun, the Golden Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas football rankings (they are ranked 39th, while the Panthers are ranked third).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Great Bend to victory, but perhaps none more so than Daxton Minton, who rushed for 193 yards and three TDs on only eight carries. Those 193 rushing yards gave Minton a new career-high. Ian Premer was another key player, rushing for 138 yards and a pair of scores on only nine carries.

With the defeat, Bishop Carroll broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-4. As for Great Bend, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.

Bishop Carroll does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Great Bend, they will square off against Hays on Friday.
