Football Recap: St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy Comes Up Short

After soaring to 46 points the game before, St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They took a 20-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Carson Colts. The contest marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Chris Fields iii was his usual excellent self, rushing for 61 yards and a pair of scores, while also throwing for 69 yards and one TD for Carson. What's more, Fields iii posted two rushing touchdowns, the most he's had since back in October of 2024.

St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Carson, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Looking ahead, St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy will welcome St. Francis at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Warriors' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Carson, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Gardena at 4:00 p.m. on October 9.
