Basketball Recap: Fortune Early College Comes Up Short

Fortune Early College played a tough match on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the West Campus Warriors 68-27. The Panthers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-10.

Despite the loss, Fortune Early College had strong showings from Heaven Graves, who posted 11 points and six rebounds, and Tenya Bailey, who earned six points.

Leading West Campus to victory were Esabel Otsuji and Loismary Justice. Otsuji had 26 points, while Justice put up 22 points. That's the most points Otsuji has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Elaina Mazzera, who posted ten points.

Fortune Early College's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for West Campus, their victory bumped their record up to 8-4.

Fortune Early College wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 49-43 win against Westlake Charter on the 7th. As for West Campus, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 81-10 victory against Johnson on the 8th.
