San Marin is 9-0-1 against Novato since January of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The San Marin Mustangs will venture away from home to square off against the Novato Hornets at 3:15 p.m. San Marin's last four matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Novato will have to contend with a San Marin team hungry for a win, something the squad hasn't seen since January 8. San Marin fell just short of San Rafael by a score of 3-2 on Monday. That's two games in a row now that the Mustangs have lost by just one goal.

Meanwhile, Novato was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat. They came up short against Marin Catholic, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 987th, while the Wildcats are ranked 155th).

San Marin's loss dropped their record down to 2-9-2. As for Novato, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-13.

San Marin beat Novato 3-1 in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for San Marin since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
