Basketball Game Preview: Victory Christian Academy Knights vs. Mater Dei Catholic Crusaders

The Victory Christian Academy Knights are taking a road trip to square off against the Mater Dei Catholic Crusaders at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

On Monday, Victory Christian Academy lost to Camarillo on the road by a 61-47 margin. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 261st, while the Scorpions are ranked 108th).

Meanwhile, Mater Dei Catholic had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They walked away with a 60-52 win over the Falcons.

Mater Dei Catholic now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Victory Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-13.

Victory Christian Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Mater Dei Catholic in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, winning 54-44. The rematch might be a little tougher for Victory Christian Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
