Basketball Recap: Braileen Morris' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Stockdale over Taft

Stockdale was the 47-42 winner over Taft when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Stockdale Mustangs took a 45-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Taft Wildcats. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Stockdale lost on Friday despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Braileen Morris, who posted nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sarleen Kaur, who put up eight points.

Stockdale's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Taft, their win bumped their record up to 3-6.

Stockdale will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Frontier at 6:30 p.m. on January 9th. Frontier is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.9 points per game this season. As for Taft, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 42-38 loss against Golden Valley on the 28th.
