Baseball Recap: Elbert County Comes Up Short

Elbert County blew Banks County out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Banks County got their revenge. The Blue Devils fell just short of the Leopards by a score of 4-2. The Blue Devils were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Leopards earlier this season, when they won 6-0.

Elbert County saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jose Rodriguez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Elbert County has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 17-10 record this season. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only 1.33 runs. As for Banks County, their victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-4.

While Elbert County had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
