Baseball Recap: Pierce County Comes Up Short

Pierce County suffered their closest loss since April 15, 2025 on Friday. They fell just short of the Wayne County Yellow Jackets by a score of 5-3. The Bears were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Yellow Jackets apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2025.

Pierce County's loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Wayne County, they pushed their record up to 4-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Coming up, Pierce County will challenge Toombs County at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games the Bulldogs have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Wayne County, they will face off against Vidalia at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Yellow Jackets 3.7, the Indians 1.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
