Soccer Game Preview: Irvine vs. St. Margaret's

The Irvine Vaqueros will take on the St. Margaret's Tartans at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Irvine's offense. They came up short against Sage Hill on Tuesday, falling 4-0. While losing is never fun, the Vaqueros can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 752nd, while the Lightning are ranked 147th).

Meanwhile, St. Margaret's was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 6-0 to Portola.

This is the second loss in a row for Irvine and nudges their season record down to 1-9-1. As for St. Margaret's, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10.
