Basketball Game Preview: La Costa Canyon Mavericks vs. Torrey Pines Falcons

The La Costa Canyon Mavericks will venture away from home to face off against the Torrey Pines Falcons at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

On Wednesday, La Costa Canyon lost to Oceanside at home by a 52-38 margin. The Mavericks haven't had much luck with the Pirates recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Meanwhile, Torrey Pines entered their game against Rancho Buena Vista on Wednesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Torrey Pines took a 71-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of Rancho Buena Vista.

La Costa Canyon's defeat dropped their record down to 12-15. As for Torrey Pines, the loss was their first at home , dropping their record down to 19-8.

La Costa Canyon might still be hurting after the 50-25 defeat they got from Torrey Pines in their previous meeting back in January. Can La Costa Canyon avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
