Basketball Recap: Bethel Park Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Aj Elphinstone and Ella Sabatos

Bethel Park lost against Peters Township back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Bethel Park Black Hawks took a 44-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Peters Township Indians. While losing is never fun, the Black Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 117th, while the Indians are ranked eighth).

Despite the defeat, Bethel Park had strong showings from Ella Sabatos, who went 6 of 8 on her way to 13 points, and Aj Elphinstone, who posted nine points and six rebounds. Thanks to that strong game, Elphinstone now owns an excellent 46.2% shooting accuracy.

Bethel Park now has a losing record at 10-11. As for Peters Township, they pushed their record up to 19-2 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road.

Coming up, Bethel Park will face off against Keystone Oaks at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Keystone Oaks will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something Bethel Park surely won't give up without a fight. As for Peters Township, they will take on Mt. Lebanon at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
