Bishop McCort extends home winning streak to nine

The Bishop McCort Crushers put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They snuck past Bishop Guilfoyle with a 61-57 win. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Leading Bishop McCort to victory were Ava Zucco and Gianna Gallucci. Zucco dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Gallucci scored 27 points along with five rebounds and four steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Gallucci has scored at least a third of Bishop McCort's points. Another player making a difference was Cami Beppler, who scored 15 points along with three steals.

Bishop McCort pushed their record up to 17-0 with that victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Bishop Guilfoyle, their loss dropped their record down to 17-2.

Bishop McCort won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Tyrone at 6:00 p.m. on February 3rd. Bishop McCort knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matchups -- so hopefully Tyrone likes a good challenge. As for Bishop Guilfoyle, they will be playing at home against Philipsburg-Osceola at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Bishop Guilfoyle is facing Philipsburg-Osceola at the right time seeing as Philipsburg-Osceola is stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
