Meanwhile, Whittier was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They lost 4-0 to California. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 732nd, while the Condors are ranked 335th).

Whittier's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12-2. As for El Rancho, their win bumped their record up to 12-4-2.

Everything went El Rancho's way against Whittier in their previous meeting two weeks ago, as El Rancho made off with a 6-0 victory. Will El Rancho repeat their success, or does Whittier have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
