Soccer Game Preview: Johansen vs. Central Valley

The Johansen Vikings will square off against the Central Valley Hawks at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Thursday, Johansen narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Lathrop 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vikings.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Central Valley, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They never let Livingston onto the board and left with a 9-0 win on Thursday. The Hawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by three goals or more this season.

Their offense was hitting Livingston from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Aaralyn Jauregui led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for three goals all by herself.

Central Valley's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-2-1. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those six contests. As for Johansen, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5-3 record this season.
