Volleyball Recap: Elgin Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Elgin, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Hardin Northern Polar Bears on Thursday. For the Comets, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 win the Polar Bears walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 28-26, 26-28, 25-17, 25-20.

Jordan Wall paced Elgin's offense, picking up 20 kills. Wall got some help from Kendra Appelfeller and her 24 assists. Appelfeller was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Elgin's victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-1. As for Hardin Northern, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 3-3.

Looking ahead, Elgin will head out on the road to square off against Triad at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for Hardin Northern, they will host Ada at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
