Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Starr's Mill). Everything went their way against the Jonesboro Cardinals on Friday as Starr's Mill made off with an 8-0 win. Grant Ferron was a massive factor in the win as he booted in three goals all by himself.

Starr's Mill used a slightly different lineup for their bout with Jonesboro. Three players got more time on the pitch than they're used to: Elijah Hammond (65), Jack Sewall (60), and Landon Howell (65). The trio had averaged 37.8, 27.2, and 33 minutes respectively before Friday's match. Sewall made the most of the opportunity, scoring a goal A few more games like that and he might be seeing even more time going forward.

Starr's Mill is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 24 goals over those seven contests. Jonesboro is on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Starr's Mill will challenge Decatur at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Jonesboro, they will look to defend their home pitch on Friday against New Manchester at 8:00 p.m.
