Baseball Game Preview: Tattnall County Warriors vs. Drew Charter

The Tattnall County Warriors will head out on the road to take on Drew Charter at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Tattnall County will be strutting in after a victory while Drew Charter will be coming in after a loss.

Tattnall County took an eight-run defeat the last time they faced off against Treutlen, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Warriors had just enough and edged out the Vikings 4-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.

Aiden Brock spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on one hit and racked up seven Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Tattnall County is 6-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 7-15 otherwise.

At the plate, Connor Dutton was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Brody Chambless, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Drew Charter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 15-0 to McEachern, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Drew Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Tattnall County, their win bumped their record up to 13-16.
