Football Game Preview: Moundridge Wildcats vs. Smith Center Redmen + Official Tickets

The Moundridge Wildcats will take on the Smith Center Redmen on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Moundridge 11.7, Smith Center 12.5) so any points scored will be well earned.

Moundridge is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They walked away with a 22-14 victory over Inman. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.

Meanwhile, Smith Center earned a 24-14 win over Thomas More Prep-Marian on Friday. The Redmen haven't had any issues with the Monarchs recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Moundridge better keep an eye on Riley Griffin Powers. He was instrumental in Smith Center's win, rushing for 161 yards and one score on only 14 carries. Those 161 rushing yards gave Griffin Powers a new career-high. Brant Wilson was another key player, rushing for 136 yards and one touchdown.

Smith Center was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 381 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Thomas More Prep-Marian only rushed for 12.

Smith Center's win bumped their record up to 10-0. As for Moundridge, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2.

Moundridge was dealt a bruising 52-0 defeat at the hands of Smith Center when the teams last played back in November of 2016. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
