Football Game Preview: Coon Rapids Cardinals vs. Eastview Lightning

For the first time this season, Coon Rapids will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will head out on the road to square off against the Eastview Lightning at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Coon Rapids has given up an average of 42.5 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Coon Rapids is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Blaine on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Cardinals took a blow against the Bengals, falling 49-13. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota football rankings (they are ranked 202nd, while the Bengals are ranked 70th).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Eastview, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They walked away with a 28-19 win over Roseville on Friday. The Lightning haven't had any issues with the Raiders recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Eastview's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Coon Rapids, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.
