Baseball Recap: Deerfield-Windsor Find Success

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Deerfield-Windsor ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 victory over the Tiftarea Academy Panthers. That's more bragging rights for the Knights, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The team relied heavily on Boyd Pollock, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Collins Clark was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Deerfield-Windsor's win bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Tiftarea Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-10.

Deerfield-Windsor will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Panthers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
