Football Recap: Dynamic Duo of Zak Ishman and Uzziah Harney Lead Northeastern to Victory

Northeastern won the last time they faced Hertford County and things went their way on Friday too. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 31-6 margin over the Bears. The Eagles pushed the score to 24-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Bears had little chance of recovering from.

A big part of Northeastern's win came down to the chemistry between Zak Ishman and his top target Uzziah Harney. Ishman threw for 238 yards and two TDs on only 17 passes while Harney gained 153 total yards and a touchdown. What's more, Ishman racked up 147.3 passer rating, the most he's had since back in August.

Northeastern didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Hertford County to a completion percentage of just 36%. The Eagles weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 66.7%.

Northeastern's defense didn't let Rucker Nixon, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for five sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as five different players picked up one apiece.

Northeastern has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 35.7 points over those games. As for Hertford County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-4.
