Recap: Venture Academy Mustangs vs. Stockton Christian Eagles
The Venture Academy Mustangs had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They claimed a resounding 57-26 victory over Stockton Christian on the road. Venture Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 31 points or more this season.
Venture Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kelyiana Neal, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 12 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Neal pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kimora Crawford, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds.
Venture Academy's victory bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Stockton Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Venture Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Linden at 2:30 p.m. on January 6th. Linden is hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses. As for Stockton Christian, Stockton Christian and Lodi Academy will face off at 5:00 p.m. on January 11th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Lodi Academy's defense has only allowed 23.2 points per game this season, so Stockton Christian's offense will have their work cut out for them.
