Sioux City East had lost six games straight , but after bumping their record up to 14-10 on Monday that streak is in the rearview. They came out on top against the Lincoln Lynx by a score of 5-1. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 8-0 win back in June.

As for Lincoln, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-27 record this season. Their loss continues a trend for the team, making it six in a row.

For Lincoln's part, Jocelyn Ridder spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks. Ridder has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Lincoln saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mallory Townstead, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
