Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Hays walked away with it. They were the clear victors by a 49-29 margin over the Eisenhower Tigers on Thursday. 49 seems to be a good number for the Indians as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

When it comes to explaining why Eisenhower lost, don't look at Brayden Pappas. Despite the final result, he rushed for 237 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.9 yards per carry. Pappas really tore up the turf during one magnificent 91-yard run.

Hays has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 40.0 points over those games. As for Eisenhower, they dropped their record down to 2-7 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Hays will face off against Hutchinson at 7:00 p.m. on the 7th. Eisenhower does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
