Baseball Game Preview: Oregon Hawks vs. Morrison Mustangs

The Oregon Hawks will take on the Morrison Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Morrison took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Oregon, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Oregon turned things around against Stillman Valley on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over the Cardinals. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Hawks considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

Meanwhile, Morrison started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against River Ridge/Scales Mound. They fell 11-6 to the Wildcats on Monday. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Morrison got a big performance out of Brayden Rubright, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double. That triple marked the first that Rubright has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson White, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Oregon's win bumped their record up to 5-18-1. As for Morrison, their loss dropped their record down to 13-12.

Oregon was able to grind out a solid victory over Morrison in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, winning 5-2. Will the Hawks repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
