Basketball Recap: Sofia Aguilar's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Sanger over Paso Robles

Sanger was the 46-38 winner over Paso Robles when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Sanger Apaches fell 42-30 to the Paso Robles Bearcats on Thursday. That's two games in a row now that the Apaches have lost by exactly 12 points.

Sanger lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Sofia Aguilar, who posted seven points. Ashley Robles was another key player, putting up six points.

Even though they lost, Sanger smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in four consecutive games.

Sanger has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-5 record this season. As for Paso Robles, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-5.

Sanger wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 47-44 victory against Morro Bay on the 27th. As for Paso Robles, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 50-48 loss against Independence on the 27th.
