Baseball Recap: Monroe Takes a Loss

Monroe lost to Dougherty back in March of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Golden Tornadoes came up short against the Trojans, falling 13-3. The Golden Tornadoes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Javion Tinch and Kyle Vicks stepped up to the plate in a big way. Tinch got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run, while Vicks went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Tinch has become a key player for Monroe: the team is 5-2 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 0-8 otherwise. Kameron Vicks was another key player, earning one run and two stolen bases.

Monroe's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Dougherty, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-6.

While Monroe had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
