Basketball Game Preview: Long Beach Poly Jackrabbits vs. Compton Tarbabes

Long Beach Poly is a perfect 10-0 against Compton since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Jackrabbits just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Tarbabes at 5:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Long Beach Poly came up short against Paramount on Tuesday, falling 58-32. While losing is never fun, the Jackrabbits can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 504th, while the Pirates are ranked 125th).

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 53-24, which was the final score in Compton's tilt against Jordan on Monday.

Compton has also been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season. As for Long Beach Poly, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-16.

Everything came up roses for Long Beach Poly against Compton when the teams last played on January 9th, as the team secured a 59-11 victory. In that game, the Jackrabbits amassed a halftime lead of 30-8, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Wednesday.
