East Newton put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They managed a 55-51 victory over the Pierce City Eagles. While the Patriots didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

East Newton's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Pierce City, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-3 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Newton will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against McDonald County at 6:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025. After both having extra time off, Pierce City and Lockwood will dust off their jerseys to face off against one another at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
