After each having a week off, the Show Low Cougars and the Round Valley Elks will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Show Low is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Apache Junction: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Cougars blew the Prospectors out of the water with a 57-0 final score. The win was familiar territory for the Cougars, who have now won four games in a row.

Jett Walker had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 108 yards and three TDs. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in October of 2024. Kash Perkins was another key player, rushing for seven yards and one score.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Show Low was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 374 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 211 rushing yards in four consecutive matchups.
Another reason for the win was Show Low's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Leading the way was Cooper Peck with two.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Round Valley, who bounced back after a loss on the road back in September. They blew past Payson 30-6 last Saturday.
Show Low better keep an eye on Kage Finch. He was instrumental in Round Valley's win, rushing for 106 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 carries, while also throwing for 111 yards and one TD. Finch's longest rush was for an impressive 51 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
Round Valley didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of JJ Logan and Cason Finch.
Show Low's record now sits at 5-1. As for Round Valley, their record is now an identical 5-1.
Show Low might still be hurting after the 41-15 defeat they got from Round Valley when the teams last played back in September of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Cougars were down 27-0.
