Softball Recap: Lakeside Wins Going Away Against Arabia Mountain

Lakeside's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They blew past the Arabia Mountain Rams 16-1. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by 12 runs or more this season.

Margo Peller-Morrison was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Peller-Morrison was also big at the plate, earning two RBI and two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Macie Williamson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Willow Wilson was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Lakeside pushed their record up to 7-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.7 runs over those games. As for Arabia Mountain, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Lakeside will face off against Haralson County at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The last five games the Rebels have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Arabia Mountain, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Woodward Academy at 5:00 p.m.
