Basketball Game Preview: South Western Mustangs vs. Susquehannock Warriors

The South Western Mustangs will challenge the Susquehannock Warriors at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

South Western is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They secured a 58-53 W over Spring-Ford last Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.

Meanwhile, Susquehannock came tearing into Friday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Bobcats by a score of 45-33. While the Warriors didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

South Western better keep an eye on Elena Snyder. She was instrumental in Susquehannock's win, going 5 for 10 on her way to 17 points in addition to six assists and five boards. Snyder's evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Johannah Bissett, who posted four points and six rebounds.

Susquehannock pushed their record up to 7-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. As for South Western, their win bumped their record up to 3-0-1.

South Western and Susquehannock were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, but South Western came up empty-handed after a 48-47 defeat.
