Football Game Preview: Lone Star Rangers vs. Aledo Bearcats

Two dominant signal callers in Trey Wright and Lincoln Tubbs are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Lone Star Rangers will face off against the Aledo Bearcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are still undefeated after 14 games, but that won't be the case come Friday.

Lone Star is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 58-38 margin over Highland Park. The Rangers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Lone Star didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Nico Viveros and Bryant Robinson. Viveros has been hot for a while, having also posted six or more total tackles the last 12 times he's played.

Meanwhile, Aledo's offense rose to the challenge against a Raiders defense that boasted an average of only 12.86 points allowed on Friday. The Bearcats blew past Ryan 43-17. The Bearcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by 26 points or more this season.

Lone Star better focus on containing Kaden Winkfield and Kaydon Finley as the pair were huge in Aledo's win. Winkfield rushed for 139 yards and one TD while picking up 8.2 yards per carry, while Finley picked up 113 receiving yards and one score. That's the most rushing yards Winkfield has posted since back in November of 2024.

Aledo's win bumped their record up to 14-0. As for Lone Star, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 14-0.

Lone Star came up short against Aledo in their previous meeting back in September of 2021, falling 45-35. Thankfully for the Rangers, Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi (who threw for 244 yards and three touchdowns on only 19 passes) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
